Are the Ipswich Tories finally showing some fight? They’ve put up an interim website, no doubt in response to criticism, from Ipswich Spy amongst others, that they were disinterested in Ipswich now Ben Gummer has been elected. Mr Gummer’s website is still saying that it will be up in a fortnight, some 6 weeks after it first went down, with no updated date as to when it is likely to be returning.
The new Tory website has a number of articles about James Spencer, the Tory candidate for Bridge Ward; an article introducing Kym Stroet as their candidate for Bixley Ward; and an article from John Carnall, ostensibly about the Council Tax but actually attacking the defecit denial from Labour.
The site still needs to be populated with articles from around the town and it is clear that, in those wards without a councillor, the Tories are not prepared (yet) to tell us what they’ve been up to. But it is a clear improvement on the volunteer locally page from the national Conservatives.com website and we hope will be kept up to date as regularly as the Labour website is. Now its up to the Lib Dems to update their website whilst we await the refurbished Ben Gummer site and the fully updated Ipswich Tories site.
