IS/MK has worked and lived in Ipswich for most of his life, including many years in the media, with a passion for the town and local politics.
IS/NC is a Labour supporter. She works in the NHS and is committed to a progressive future for this country. She concedes that Labour made some mistakes in Government but is convinced that the coalition are making the poor pay for those mistakes. She is married with a son.
Ken Bates is a former Liberal Democrat councillor for Alexandra ward. He was a producer for CSV Media at BBC Radio Suffolk, and went on to run the Ipswich Politics show on ICR FM. He is a web designer and media advisor amongst other things. No longer a member of the Liberal Democrats, Ken describes himself as a born-again Libertarian Socialist.
jamhoward is a law student with an interest in politics and current affairs. She is an avid fan of Formula One racing and the Irish Rugby Union side. She is an experienced scuba diver and regularly dives wrecks around the British coast.
Ben Redsell is a Conservative supporter who voted for Labour in the late nineties. He has worked for a solicitors firm contracted to a trade union, as well as a period as an elected councillor. He is now a mature student, studying law with the Open University. He would vote Democrat if he lived in the United States.
Sally Wainman is a former Independent Candidate for IBC and a tireless campaigner for Broomhill Pool. She recently Chaired the Independent Panel for Renumeration for Ipswich Borough Council.
IS/OB is a business woman who has lived in Suffolk for 30 years. An alumni of Operation Black Vote, she shadowed a former Tory Cabinet Minister as part of their MP shadowing scheme. A leading member of the Chinese community, she maintains she will speak her independent mind on the political issues of the day.
Fred Root is a satirical nod to Charles William Donaldson, who wrote under the pseudonym Henry Root. Born in Ipswich, Fred Root went to Tower Ramparts Secondary Modern before apprenticing to Ransomes Sims & Jeffries. He has retired and lives in Ipswich with she who must be obeyed. A regular at one of the towns Conservative Clubs, he endures his fortnightly trip to Portman Road with fortitude. He despairs of the growing number of incomers in Ipswich, with some coming from as far a field as Felixstowe, Hadleigh and, rumour has it, even Stowmarket.
